Shifting Victim Mindset


Most of us are brought up in a culture where blaming is the norm. We have a victim mindset where people blame the situation and other people for the outcomes in their own lives. This results in a repetitive pattern of outcomes.

Every outcome in your life is a reflection of how you responded to an earlier event or events in your life. There are many contributing factors that might impact the outcome of an event but if this is the deciding factor non of us will succeed in life.

If you start blaming the financial crisis or your spouse or the weather for your lack of results then you will never go forward in life. You will either be stuck or move backwards. So how can we handle such situations in life?

In order to change the outcome an individual needs to focus on internal outputs. To have a deeper understanding of this subject a simple concept I learned from my mentor Jack Canfield is Event + Responses = Outcome.

The events are external forces such as people, pandemic, natural disasters or financial crisis that cause you to take certain actions. We cannot change the outside events but we can change our responses. We can control our responses by controlling the way we think, the image we hold in our mind and our behaviors and actions. Your results will determine if you need change the current responses in your life. 

By applying this concept to your everyday life it will help you to take 100% responsibility for your life and help you to get out of victim mindset.
